– ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A man who said that he wasn’t man enough to raise a child attempted to kill his son by involving him in a car accident.Nathan Weitzel intentionally left his 2-year-old son Isaiah unbuckled as he drove into other vehicles at 75 miles per hour on Aug. 21.KDVR in Denver reports Weitzel, 29, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, child abuse, assault, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance and vehicular assault.

– Nathan Weitzel is seen in a booking photo after he allegedly tried to kill his 2-year-old son in a deliberate car crash.A man has been charged with attempted murder after authorities say he told investigators in suburban Denver that he purposefully crashed his car in an effort to kill his toddler son.Nathan Weitzel is being jailed on $500,000 bail in connection with the Aug. 21 wreck in Centennial.KUSA-TV reports that the 2-year-old boy, who was unrestrained in the vehicle, suffered a concussion and broken leg but is expected to recover.Court documents say that when an Arapahoe County sheriff’s investigator asked Weitzel about the incident and how it happened, the man replied: “I was trying to kill my son,” adding that he planned the crash because he didn’t “think he was man enough to raise a child.
