Illinois secretary of state warns of flood-damaged used cars coming from Texas
(AP Photo/Charlie Riedel)SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White is caution possibility used vehicle buyers to be wary of cars by hidden flood damage from Hurricane & later Tropical Storm Harvey.
White has instructed his office to closely screen title applications involving possibility flood cars in an effort to prevent Illinois consumers, according to a break news release from the Office of the Secretary of State.
“We are taking every step possible to ensure which flood damaged cars from Hurricane Harvey don’t receive clean titles in Illinois,” White said in a statement.
The applicants for those titles going to must submit a Hurricane Disclosure Statement to obtain a clean Illinois title.
Any applicant unable or unwilling to supply the signed form going to receive an Illinois Flood title only.
