Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has a new mid-size truck solution

This video produced by Chevrolet basically just shows the ZR2 doing its ridiculously awesome thing off-road
Fortunately, Chevrolet has a new mid-size truck solution: the Colorado ZR2 .
It’s completely understandable that not everyone wants a Ford F-150 Raptor for their off-road shenanigans.
It’s a full-size truck and it’s not exactly cheap.
Powered by either a 2.8-liter diesel with 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.6-liter V6 with 308 hp and 275 lb-ft, buyers can also pick either an extended cab or crew cab, depending on their personal needs.

Video Conversations: 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Engineer

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

Posted by Mark Williams | May 14, 2017After spending a couple days behind the wheel of the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 pickup truck on brutally rutted and greasy hill climbs, as well as high-speed dirt tracks (we may have taken a few jumps), we can say this truck is dialed in.
This pickup will definitely make waves in the segment, but we question whether this might be an unlucky break for GM since it’s releasing a great little pickup into a slumping market. photo by Matt Avery
We had the chance in between trail rides, cand dirt road running to stop at a few places in the Colorado high country to talk about a few details we like and didn’t like about this new 4×4 with GM chassis engineer extrordinaire Tim Demetrio.

Seven Details that Make the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Special

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of driving the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 through the Rocky Mountains outside Grand Junction, Colorado.
Wider trackThe Colorado ZR2 features a 3.5-inch wider track than the rest of the lineup.
Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers First used by GM on the 2014 Camaro Z/28, the DSSV dampers are the most important part of the ZR2’s kit.
Optional diesel I-4 In addition to being the only vehicle on the market with an independent front suspension mated to a front locker, the Colorado ZR2 is also the only one that can be had with a diesel engine.
It dispenses with the corner steps seen on the standard Colorado, which were frequently crushed by off-road obstacles during development.
