The Toledo, Ohio-made Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited tied for the top spot, with the Jeep Cherokee ranked second. The online marketplace’s annual American-Made Index looks at manufacturing location, domestic parts content and the number of jobs supported by the production of specific models to determine its top picks. The iconic Jeep Wrangler is the most-American car you can spend your money on, according to a new survey conducted by Cars.com. More information on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL should become available as its debut this fall approaches, but for now, you can see it testing in the video above. A number of engine options should also be on the table, with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine said to be joined by FCA’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. Toward the end of the video, a prototype for the four-door Wrangler JT pickup truck is also pictured parked in an FCA lot. The video actually shows two different four-door Wrangler Unlimited prototypes undergoing tests.

A set of up-fitter switches is expected to be offered from the factory, a welcome addition to the Wrangler. Look for the all-new Jeep Wranger to debut sometime before the end of 2017. A mild-hybrid version of the Wrangler is also supposed to be available from launch, while a full hybrid powertrain should be available by 2022.
