Jeep enthusiasts everywhere are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new JL Wrangler, expected to hit showrooms sometime in 2018. The wish for Jeep to retain this proven formula was made adamantly clear by the legions of Wrangler enthusiasts from coast-to-coast and around the world. We just got these shots of a JL mule driving in downtown Los Angeles, which had the misfortune of being pulled over by L.A.’s finest, reportedly for running a red light. Through the mesh covering the front grille, the pronounced kink in the grille as speculated by the JL Wrangler Forum is visible, as are the fender-mounted horizontal front driving lights/turn signals. We expect the full official reveal of the Wrangler at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show or sooner.

2018 Jeep Wrangler Will Likely Come With The Renegade’s MySky Roof
Logically speaking, the addition of MySky is a no-brainer for Jeep considering that the Wrangler is one of its best-selling models and the feature is a popular addition to the Renegade. Better still, Jeep may offer these options with the ability to be combined with one another, keeping the Wrangler as a true dream car for the driver that facebook/” target=”_blank”>likes to tailor every bit of the ownership experience. Note: Wrangler rendering by JWF When following up with a source at Jeep, the forum heard back that it is “on the right track.” If MySky is indeed coming to the Wrangler, it will be offered in conjunction with a 3 piece hardtop, interchangeable hard and soft top roofs, and an optional hardtop glass panel to offer exposure to the elements when the weather is not permitting.
Spy shots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler hint at the possibility of a fascinating new retractable roof, according to sources in the know. If Jeep opts to go with a power roof, the Wrangler’s weight and cost will definitely increase. Latches on the ceiling of the cabin indicate that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler seems to have a multi-faceted roof like the Freedom Top and possibly the Renegade’s MySky roof (depicted in the video below). For all The Drive knows, the switches seen in spy shots could be for auxiliary lighting. Even though reliable sources on the JL Wrangler Forums have suggested that the hypothesis regarding a power roof isn’t far off, we can’t confirm this to be the case.
